# Delete your account and its data

How to ask for your account to be deleted, and which records are removed once it is gone.

## How to ask

1. Open [settings](https://lookvalid.com/dashboard/settings) in the dashboard.
2. Choose Delete account. This opens a pre-filled email to us from the address on your account.
3. Send it. You can also write to hello@lookvalid.com directly.

## What is removed

- Your API keys, lookup history and cached results.
- Bulk job files and their rows.
- Connected app grants and tokens.
- Your remaining credits. This cannot be undone.

## Billing records

What we keep after a deletion, if anything, is listed in the [privacy policy](https://lookvalid.com/legal/privacy.md).

## Before you delete

- Download the receipts you need from the [billing tab](https://lookvalid.com/dashboard/billing); they go with the account.
- Copy any results you want to keep from your lookup history.
- If you only want to stop being charged, cancel the plan instead. The [cancelling guide](https://lookvalid.com/help/billing/cancel-and-refunds.md) shows how, and your account and credits stay in place.
